WHAT IS IOT ?

The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects—“things”—that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet. These devices range from ordinary household objects to sophisticated industrial tools. With more than 7 billion connected IoT devices today, experts are expecting this number to grow to 22 billion by 2025.

IOT

The term 'Internet of Things' was coined in 1999 by the computer scientist Kevin Ashton. While working at Procter & Gamble, Ashton proposed putting radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips on products to track them through a supply chain.

WHY IOT IS USED ?

IoT enables companies to automate processes and reduce labor costs. It also cuts down on waste and improves service delivery, making it less expensive to manufacture and deliver goods, as well as offering transparency into customer transactions.

DOES IOT HAVE FUTURE

The future potential of IoT is enormous; it is already transforming our lives in numerous ways. Smart home technology, for example, is becoming increasingly popular, with devices such as thermostats and lighting systems being connected to the internet and allowing us to control them from anywhere. Smart cities, which use IoT devices to monitor and manage traffic, public transportation, and public safety, are also being developed. IoT will continue to permeate our daily lives in the future. More connected devices, ranging from cars to personal health trackers, will be introduced to help us live better and more efficient lives. More data will also be shared and analyzed, allowing us to make more informed decisions. In short, IoT is changing the way we live and work, and its potential is only expanding. It's like a massive network of things all collaborating.
